It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Senate President Emeritus Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr. of Maryland. He died at home on January 15, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He will lie in state in Annapolis on January 21 and 22and there will be a private mass and service on Saturday at St. John the Evangelist in Clinton.

Senator Miller served as Senate President in Maryland for 33 years and was the longest serving state Senate President in US history. He also served on the SLLF Board of Directors from 1989-2016.

“Mike Miller was a valued friend and mentor to me and to SLLF for all the years he served in public office. Mike loved the institution of the Maryland state legislature and he served the people of his state with honor and distinction. His life of public service was marked by integrity, honesty and courage. He will be missed.” Stephen G. Lakis, President, SLLF

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions be made to the Calvert Health Cancer Foundation, the Dunkirk Fire Department, the Thomas V.
