Overview
Each year over half of all the speakers in the nation attend the NSC annual meeting, making this the single largest gathering of presiding officers in the nation. During the annual meeting, speakers are given opportunities to network with their peers and discuss many of the critical issues of the day.
Speakers from across the nation will meet in Las Vegas, Nevada from September 4-7 to explore this vibrant city and learn from each other about how to better lead their chamber and state.
2024 NSC President & Host
Speaker Steve Yeager
Nevada State Assembly
Steve Yeager has represented Assembly District 9 (southwest Las Vegas) in the Nevada Legislature since 2016. He chaired the Assembly Committee on Judiciary in his first three legislative sessions. In addition, Steve served as Speaker Pro Tem for two sessions before being unanimously elected as Speaker for the 2023 legislative session. When the Legislature is not in session, Steve practices law at Battle Born Injury Lawyers, focusing primarily on personal injury cases. He is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and Cornell Law School.
Steve’s wife, Bita, is a elected District Court Judge for 8th Judicial District Court in Las Vegas, handling both civil and criminal cases, as well as overseeing specialty courts.
