2021 New Speakers Conference – 29th Annual

October 20 – 23, 2021

Each year over half of all the speakers in the nation attend the NSC annual meeting, making this the single largest gathering of presiding officers in the nation. During the annual meeting, speakers are given opportunities to network with their peers and discuss many of the critical issues of the day. Special guest speakers for this year’s program included: Coach Bruce Pearl, Auburn University; Robert L. “Hoot” Gibson, Retired US Astronaut; and Anthony Ray Hinton of the Equal Justice Initiative. Other highlights included tours of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville.

Host: Speaker Mac McCutcheon

Speaker Mac McCutcheon
Alabama House of Representatives

Mac McCutcheon had been serving the people of Huntsville as a police officer for decades before he decided to run for the Alabama House of Representatives in 2006. He was elected speaker of the house in 2016 after being urged to run by his peers and has been heading up the chamber ever since. He and his wife, Debbie, are very excited to welcome the 29th National Speakers Conference to Alabama!
