2014 NSC Annual Meeting
Hosted by Speaker William J. Howell
Politics, History and Southern Hospitality in Richmond, Virginia
During the Civil War Richmond, Virginia served as the Capitol of the Confederacy. Today it is the Capitol of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the home to internationally recognized museums, restaurants and institutions of higher education. On September 10-13, 2014, Richmond was the site of the 23rd annual meeting of the National Speakers Conference hosted by the Honorable William "Bill" J. Howell, Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates.
In addition to spending time with other Speakers, participants walked battlefields and discussed battlefield leadership with noted Civil War historian James I. (Bud) Robertson, Jr. We also visited Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, and Dr. Larry Sabato, Director of the University of Virginia's Center for Politics, joined us to discuss the 2014 and 2016 elections.
And, we can't forget the hospitality! You enjoyed some of the finest food the Old South has to offer and experienced musical entertainment that is uniquely Virginian!
