Vilnius, Lithuania
June 27 - July 1, 2007
ntic Leadership Forum 2007 in Lithuania was very successful, the participation of legislative and business leaders from the United States as well as from Europe has been outstanding, and the content of the program was very timely and interesting. We learned a lot about Lithuania itself, but we’ve also learned very much about the neighboring nations Russia and Belarus. I already mentioned our “Transatlantic Forum 2007” in my previous European newsletter, however, the current political situation in Russia after the parliamentary elections on December 2nd is of special interest to all of us. How strong will the new elected parliament be? Will the opposition in Russia be able to unfold its true political work unhampered and free? What course will the biggest nation on earth take in the future?
We talked about Russia at our program in Lithuania, and a lot of what had been debated and said is what we now can see on our TV screens. This proves that SLLF again organized a program that was up-to-date and forward looking.
