2007 NATIONAL SPEAKERS CONFERENCE

September 5 - 9, 2007

The Speakers Office along with the Delaware Economic Development Office selected wonderful sights that gave us an overview of Delaware’s most famous and interesting landmarks.  Each day we visited one of the 3 counties that make up the state: Thursday we visited Sussex County, Friday , Kent County and Saturday, New Castle County.

On Thursday we had a day of shopping in Sussex County beginning with the Tanger Outlets and then on to Rehoboth Beach.  A special luncheon was served at Victoria’s Restaurant. 

On Friday morning, the first stop of our Kent County tour was the Dover Air Mobility Command Museum and then we headed to the Pizzadilli Winery & Vineyard for another special luncheon.  Following lunch we enjoyed tours of the Biggs Museum, Woodburn (the Governor’s Mansion) and the Johnson Victrola Museum. 

Saturday and the unique county of New Castle. The first stop was the Hagley Museum that included a Mansion Tour.  Then luncheon at Winterthur was followed by a house and garden tour.  From 3:00 - 4:45 pm, we toured historic New Castle - The Courthouse, Amstel House and the Dutch House.  Our Coach returned to Dover Downs at 5:00 pm.
